History Of Ayurveda

Ayurveda is a healthy-lifestyle system that people in India have used for more than 5,000 years. Ayurveda emphasizes good health and prevention and treatment of illness through lifestyle practices and the use of herbal remedies.

Ayurveda is a complete medical system which recognizes that ultimately all intelligence and wisdom flows from one Absolute source (Paramatma).

Origin And Development Of Ayurveda

  • As Per Indian Mythology It Is Believed That Ayurveda Is Created By Lord Brahama, Who Is The Creator Of Universe Too. Later, This Knowledge Was Gained By Daksh Prajapati In Its Original Form And It Passes To Ashwini Kumars And From Them To Lord Indra In Its Original Form. It Is Proved Here The Existence Of Ayurveda Ata The Time Of Creation Of Universe.

  • It Is Believed That Upto Lord Indra Its Existence Was Limited Upto Devloka (Heaven). Lord Indra Spread This Knowledge To This Universe. Acharya Bhardwaja Himself Present Before Lord Indra And Received This Knowledge To Treat The Ailments Of This Earth (Bhoo Loka) And Bhardwaja Passes This Knowledge To His Disciple Atreya Punarvasu And Other Maharishis. Atreya Dictating This Knowledge To His Disciples And It Comes In This Form Of Samhitas (Books Of Knowledge).

  • Today Ayurveda Is As It Is As This Knowledge Passes By Punarvasu Atreya To His Disciples And Gradually It Is Enriched By Commentators And Moderators.

What is Ayurveda

Derived from two Sanskrit words: Ayu (life) + Veda (knowledge). Ayurveda is an ancient Indian system that treats life, health and longevity by focusing on body, mind and soul.

Both body and mind are the seat of ailment as well as responsible for joy happiness and pleasure . In this present era maximum age is about 100 years & ayurveda maintain this duration and make the life full of joy, pleasure & happiness till death.
